UK Foundation Programme

The UK educational system is reputed for its high quality and standards worldwide, which is why it is our flagship foundation programme at Westerfield College. The UK Foundation Programme is a one-year university preparatory course, which is an alternative to the A-Level. The course specifically prepares students towards a named specialist area of study.

Each specialised pathway is divided into two strands: Core and General Module. The Core Modules are linked to the curriculum of students’ intended degree, while the General Modules help students develop generic study strategy skills in a challenging university environment. It also equips students key computing and IT skills and assist them to independently research and survive a rigorous higher education phase. UFP ensures entry into the first year of a three-year bachelor’s degree in the UK.

Whilst at Westerfield, I undertook core engineering courses such as Maths for Engineering, System Analysis and Design, and Information Technology and Communication. These courses, and the practical engineering experience I acquired, enabled me to develop a strong technical foundation, upon which I could build my future education.
