6 Ways to Effectively Manage Your Time in a Sixth Form College

Time management can be tough. Here are a few tips to help you effectively manage your time:

  • Make a To-do List Every Day

Put the most important tasks at the top, even if they’re things you’re dreading, and tackle them first. Include things you are excited to do on your list too, so you have things you’re looking forward to.

  • Find your Productive Time

Are you a morning person or a night person?

You’ll be more efficient if you work when you’re at your best.

  • Create a Dedicated Study Time

Set up a time devoted only to studying or homework. Eliminate distractions and stick to a reading schedule.

  • Budget your Time

Create a routine at the beginning of the semester so you can adjust to it early and then see if you have leftover time for other engagements.

Figure out how much time you usually spend on your activities and then create a weekly schedule to follow. Determine how much free time you have before you add any commitments. And don’t forget to schedule some time to relax.

  • Stay Organized

Keeping your school work organized can be a huge factor in saving you some time throughout the week, especially if you’re taking more than one class at a time.

Avoiding clutter isn’t just important when organizing your notes and hand-outs. Be sure to keep your computer desktop organized in a way that always allows you to locate the files you’ll need for each particular class.

  • Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Your brain needs rest to perform at its peak. If it’s time to sleep, list the things you still need to get done on the next day’s to-do list and go to bed.
